At Blackfin Doors & Gates, community involvement is about more than putting our name on an event. It is about showing up for the people and organizations creating welcoming spaces on Vancouver Island.
That is why we were proud to support a charitable disc golf tournament organized with Queer Disc Golf, Mary’s Farm Disc Golf, and Mary’s Farm & Sanctuary, home of Blossoming at the Farm.
Community is built when people make room for one another.
A tournament with a bigger purpose
The event was created to raise funds for gender-inclusive programming at Blossoming at the Farm. It brings together recreation, local partnership, and a shared belief that people should be able to participate, connect, and feel welcome.
The custom discs designed for the tournament are a fun part of the event, but the purpose behind them is even more important. Every round, conversation, and contribution helps support programming designed to create more inclusive experiences.
Local partnerships matter
Blackfin works with doors, gates, and access systems every day. We understand how much the spaces around us matter—whether that is a family garage, a shared parkade, a business entrance, or a community gathering place.
Supporting local organizations is another way we can help build the kind of community we want to live and work in: practical, respectful, and open to everyone.
We are grateful to Queer Disc Golf, Mary’s Farm Disc Golf, and Mary’s Farm & Sanctuary for bringing people together around a positive cause. We look forward to sharing the event’s results and celebrating the people who helped make it possible.
